What Goes Up Must Come Down
Talked my O into taking down Christmas decorations so we could put up our NYE decorations. He finally gave in.
Party prep is on.
Oh What A Night!
Sad to say goodbye to dear friends Guisette and Alfred and their great kids.
Overjoyed to say hello to Baby Riley, 8.2 pounds and 21.5 inches tall. Welcome, sweet boy.

Found this video of little Owen in Krakow’s Old City Square. He had to be talked into giving our change. July 2008. My how he’s grown!

Obituary for Esther Chavez, the woman who worked tirelessly to call attention to the murders of more than 100 women in Ciudad Juarez.
This makes me recall my first and one of the few reprimands or corrections I was given when I started out as a newsroom assistant in broadcast news.
I wrote a story about the Juarez murders, as assigned and used the words “police claim” while...

Drove to see the pretty lights in Haltom City and found a house with synchronized lights and the Charlie Brown Christmas music playing. Owen was so happy. Us too.
Forced Family Fun Time
Playing Tinker Toys and board games with Grandma, instead of video games. Poor Owen.

"Will find it hard to sleep tonight..."
Owen is so wound up and excited about Santa that he’s been up at least eight times in the past hour.
We called Santa and Owen cried and said he’d go to sleep. Santa said he would like to visit with Owen if he could stay up until his Grapevine arrival, but that he has children all over the world to visit. Owen agreed to stay in bed and was cheered up that Santa wouldn’t skip our...
Christmas Eve
Hale is adjusting to helmetdom, his stocking is finished (and lovely) and we are headed home on already frozen roads. Peaceful, beautiful night.
Today is the day.
Today is H-day. Hale gets his baby helmet this morning.
Reform Passes
Senate just passed final vote for healthcare reform. Not all that I want in the bill, but so much closer to change I can believe in.
Celebration Time
Off to celebrate Baby Camille’s birth, then to celebrate Baby Jesus’s birth with two Christians and two Agnostics on a warm winter evening.
Camille Frances Isaacs
Welcome to the world, Camille!
Cannot wait to meet you.

2009 - The Year in Review
What a year it has been! We Mid-Cities Democrats began 2009 with the Inauguration Luncheon - a sold out event, which raised money for our Jim Wright Scholarship, one of the few Inauguration celebrations in Tarrant County and earned us prime-time news coverage for two days in a row. The year ended with the North Texas Salute to Speaker Jim Wright - another sold out event of nearly 200 Democrats...

"No Touching" "No No No No"
Owen has not been sleeping for these past two hours. He came out of his room and said, “There’s just something on the walls.”
He taped up ten construction paper signs up all around his room with “no touching no no no no” written on each.
Apparently the scolding about not kicking the wall while rolling about the bed has worked.
Gris gris, Gris gris!!!
Football party is hilarious. So much yelling and lots of new terminology.
Great people, good beer, rough looking dudes on the TV bouncing off each other.
Hell Has Frozen Over
I am headed to a football watching party. Apparently people gather to watch football games in their homes. Cannot relate. Can relate to parties, though. Geaux Saints, as they say.

New Holiday Tradition
Owen fell off the wooden play set at school just before Thanksgiving last year, getting a black eye and bruised nose.
Yesterday he fell outside our house and scraped both knees, forehead and nose and got a bloody nose. He looks rough.
Just in time for holiday pictures!
Congrats, Jeremy!
Today Jeremy was accepted to speak at the 2010 IA Summit with the topic “The Mobile Question: Lessons in Design and Strategy for Your Mobile Experience”.
Proud wife!
All Together
Feeding Hale on the sofa, next to Owen, next to Jeremy. Feels great.
Hale's Scan
Today Baby Hale had his head scanned at Cranial Technologies.
He had to wear just his dipe and a stocking cap on his head, rob-a-convenience-store-style. He was held up, in position for a few minutes while the nearly 360 degree machines took pictures.
He only fussed a little, but I couldn’t take it. We have the scans, but I don’t think I can post them. I am sure one day this will not...
