Our Charts, by Owen
We discipline Owen with a chart of stars and frowny faces. Far more effective than time outs, taking toys away. He hates frowny faces.
Today walking past the office, I saw Owen had made charts for the rest of us.
J: one star, four frowns
K: four stars
H: three stars, one frown “because he cries too much”
Yuck
Rick Perry, you are not Sarah Palin. Don’t wink at panelists of the opposite sex.

Of course I do not endorse binge drinking (and I am looking at one of you here, dear readers), but this is very funny. I’ll be watching out for Joe Wilson.

New Voter, I Hope
Yesterday I registered my first new voter of 2010 - a first for him. 24 and has never voted, not even turned on by the ‘08 election. Hopes he takes his voter reg card and actually votes in the March 2 primary. Register them, then GOTV (get out the vote)!
New Vocab Words
Thanks Ashley, Patrick and Stormy for a great visit and my new vocab words. I’ll try to use them three times - then they’ll be mine.

Had a blast with Justine at Esparza’s (hold the tomatoes), Tolbert’s and A Hard Night’s Day - the Beatles cover band serenade, and the swanky Dino’s.

Papa Bush endorses Sen. KBH over Rick Perry for Texas Governor. Ouch.
Dear Justine

Wouldn't Want to be on His Front Burner →
When a person dies because someone doesn’t do their job, the loss of said job should be the least of the penalties. Except in Texas, I guess.
A corporation is not a person
Therefore has no First Amendment Rights. The conservative Supreme Court majority is, as usual, dead wrong.

Drinking Liberally Mid-Cities, January 21
Happy New Year, Liberal Drinkers. It’s time for the first Drinking Liberally Mid-Cities of 2010.
Early voting for the March primary is right around the corner, President Obama has marked his first year in office and Sen. Ted Kennedy’s seat has been won by a Republican.
Let’s talk about it this Thursday night and bring a friend!
We’ll also pass the hat for our friends at...

Sleep Deprivation

He slept through 6, but Owen didn’t.

Angel in the Centerfold
Indeed, my blood has run cold.
But this is the kick in the pants some in our leadership might need. My confidence remains. We’re on the right side of history, Democrats.
Good news, bad news
I was able to get out of the house alone and enjoy a beer with friends.
After seeing Sen. Kennedy at the DNC, I’m all the more disappointed at the loss of his seat.
Picking up lunch at Jeremy’s “I hate this place” Vietnamese restaurant.
Primary Countdown
On way home from haircut, seeing my first (huge) campaign signs for a few judicial races along Ball St.
I don’t know enough curse words to properly respond to the estimate of four more weeks of helmet, rather than just two.
