To Tease or Not to Tease

On two consecutive days this week, I was asked by a six-year-old and then a four-year-old, both boys, “Why is your stomach so big?”

I wanted to say, “Because I didn’t listen to my Mommy and I ate too many sweets” and “Because I had an accident blowing up my balloon” and a few others.

But instead I said, “Because I am growing a baby inside me.” 

The four-year-old asked the sex and he said since it was a boy, the baby could be his little sister’s boyfriend. His mother didn’t seem to think that was as funny as I did.
