A local newspaper has picked up our Mid-Cities Democrats news release about the upcoming 4th Annual Independence Day Picnic and asked for a photo to run with it. I looked through old photos searching for “picnic” and found this funny, yet sad photo of Owen, right after his balloon popped at a church picnic. That day scarred him for life, people. To this day he refuses balloons, saying they will pop.  Case-in-point, last night there was a balloon drop at my church’s Vacation Bible School. Owen ran from the event center, with hands over his ears as the balloons started popping. He ran to the outside door and was chased down in time before he got outside.
