Recycling Pilot Program

Last night after little discussion, the Grapevine City Council unanimously voted to approve a large cart recycling pilot program in two neighborhoods. (Maps here, http://1.usa.gov/utFyUq.)

Residents will begin receiving information from Republic Services (Allied Waste), including door hangers in December. Rollout of the program begins in January. This timing coincides with a much larger volume of trash and recycling due to the holidays. 

I share in the pleasure of recycling advocates at the resident choice option approved. We wanted residents to have the option of the 65-gallon cart or the 95-gallon cart and they will. 

Kudos to the Grapevine City Council for this important step in the right direction. If you have friends in the pilot program areas, encourage them to make the most out of this opportunity.
