Home from a marathon council meeting in which more than a dozen residents spoke passionately for and against proposed changes to Nash Farm.

Among those speaking on the side of preservation, the co-chairs of the Nash Farm Capital Campaign — I was in the same second grade class as their son at Colleyville Elementary — and a father who brought along his two sons — the younger brother of friend, and a GHS classmate.

My family enjoys Nash Farm the way it is now. I’m not convinced that we need more growth in programming and buildings and resulting limits to accessibility. I’ll be watching developments closely.

It is exhilarating and inspiring to see so many Grapevine residents, with deep ties to this place, playing an active role in shaping their community.
