While I really liked my Valentine’s Day gifts from everyone, my favorites were the ones chosen by Owen, especially for me, which he wrapped in paper and labeled by himself, “From Owen to Mom”. I even got a kiss. These days, I am only allowed to kiss him at bedtime. When did kisses from Mom become tiresome?
Valentine’s for Kiddos
I got Owen a pirate T-shirt and Hale colored pencils that are just his size. If you gift give (beyond sweets) what do you give?
It’s the “Muffins for Mom” social at Owen’s school this morning.
O’s Latest Fundraiser
Because America’s priorities are out of whack, public schools conduct fundraisers to put the tiniest bandaid on gaping wound deficits. Sorry for the yuck analogy.
Anyway, Owen’s school continues to raise money for the PTA and school itself and the latest fundraiser is environmentally friendly tote bags (in paw print, giraffe, zebra, damask, black and white dot and black, white and red plaid), Mason Jar candles in birthday cake, coconut, mango and cinnamon apple scents and pre-portioned cookie dough with all your basic flavors including M&M, oatmeal raisin, choc chip, white choc macadamia nut, pecan coconut, snickerdoodle and peanut butter.
Bags are two for $20, candles and dough are also $15. Let me know if you’d like any of these items.

Snow Day #2, 2011
School is out in GCISD again tomorrow. Owen says “like it” when asked about the closing.
The allergy doctor has switched Owen’s medicine, so hopefully he’ll get some relief and we won’t have to hear him clearing his throat every five minutes. Poor his throat, poor our ears.
The Earth must be off its orbit — Jeremy won my SOTU bingo game and Owen is the last man standing (still up!) of the watch party.
